Emergency Procedures
Macquarie has clearly defined procedures for emergency management. Teachers practice evacuation and lockdown drills with their classes throughout the year. Calm walking, following instructions and the assembly point are emphasised. Students are talked through what is happening so they understand the purpose of the exercises. Staff are familiar with the emergency procedures and have access to the document in all areas of the school.
Families, visitors and volunteers are required to obey all emergency instructions if at school during an evacuation or lockdown.

Equity Funding
We have an equity fund to support the needs of students who might not be in a position to take advantage of curriculum opportunities provided by the school. Parents who require assistance from this fund should approach the Principal to discuss.
Excursions
Excursions are an integral part of the education program at Macquarie. We aim to provide at least 6 weeks notice prior to any excursion requiring financial payment. Written permission, including an excursion medical consent, is a requirement for all excursions other than those which go to the immediate school environs. Permission notes detailing excursion purpose, dates and times, costs (if any) and other details are sent home beforehand.
